Launched to larger than predicted swell. Bait was super easy to make this morning...4 drops 12 Spanish. Caught 2 bonita right off the bat as the tide turned and started to drop. Then I got bit on the right kind. Wrapped up in heavy stringer, spectra was doing its thing and then the hook pulled after about 5-10 mins or so....
O well, the Jewel is making me earn another fish. First fish dumped from my yak...won't be the last - I'm sure. Still no ff, however I had my chance so no excuses. Hit the beach by 11am, to ankle slappers. Tight lines, Geno PS. Then on the way home my good buddy Lance calls me and says their bringing in a 500+pound marlin. Thought it was a blue, but at the scales they noticed it was a black! Weighed in at 510. Caught it 2 miles off the beach...and for all you haters out there - it is all going to be eaten.
