Thump, Thump...Slurp, Slurp...WTF?
So...I'm in a zombie state floating around in the dark. Absolutely nothing going on and I'm just putting in my time waiting for the sunrise. Every once in a while, I hear and feel this thump, thump...a minute goes by...thump, thump...something's hitting my kayak. Turn off the bait pump...thump, thump...thump, thump.
Well, it's not Mr. Taxman because I haven't been thrown 10' into the air...I look to the left and to the right...nothing. Then...thump, thump...I look down again and see a tail...it's a fairly large Ray. Upside down and tight to my hull...WTF!?. It's slurping my squid juice coming out of my scupper hole! Its wings are banging on my hull, thump, thump. Mr. Ray swims out upside down and I give him a squid and he's all over it. We do this for a while, actually two pounds of squid later and we go our separate ways. And then there's the yellow snake that showed up for a while...just under 3'. Had a flat tail? Pale yellow...El Nino effect? Jim Last edited by Deamon; 07-27-2015 at 06:22 AM. |
