Yep, on a hard paddle I can get my OC-1 to about 7.5 mph, but downswell, easily into the 10-12 mph range if the winds are good.

Surfski isn't practical for fishing, but I've fished the bays on my OC-1 OK, and next plan is to catch a YT off La Jolla on it. Downside of an OC-1 for fishing though is lack of storage options, so will have to rig very light. Jig fishing only.
