4th July MultiSpecies in Korea (Mix boat/kayak/shore)
Multi-species weekend. Started off the 4th by heading to Dajeon, hoping for fire eyed chubs on the fly rod. The rainy season has the river too high however, and I was promptly run off due to the river being too dangerous. Saturday we tried for yellowtail. Found some boils but the fish didn't want to cooperate. Hooked a nice one on a West Coast style iron, but the hook pulled halfway up. Had a rat yellow to the boat, hook pulled out before we netted. Next day we went for flathead. Fishing was much better, the weather much wetter. Monday Jaeyun and I went kayaking for flathead. He kicked my butt 6 fish to 2, but I learned some new things about flathead I didn't know before. Always good to learn something new! Caught a small octopus and had a run in with my newfound favorite commercial fisherman. |
