Sea Sickness Remedy
I have been reading recently about fellow kayakers having trouble with seasickness and want to offer up a cure I have been using and sharing with great success.
I am sure you all have heard that sailors back in the day used to use ginger to cure seasickness. There are ginger pills on the market but by themselves they are too strong and make you burp. Which doesn't lead to a calm stomach. I found that Nabisco Ginger Snap Cookies (it has to be the Nabisco brand as they use real ginger) calm your stomach and help to prevent seasickness. I have given them to people already sick and below deck on multi-day tuna trips and they make a full recovery. Any time I see a kid starting to turn green out come the cookies and they are fine. Needless to say, I have made a lot of friends thanks to Nabisco. I use them to supplement the standard pills. They work for me, hopefully they will work for you too. |
