Sonar & Down Imaging on my FF
I just wanted to share how I'm making use of the "down image" feature on my Humminbird graph
I was at Lake Isabella last week and had a chance to do a fair amount of open water trolling. At this time, the water level is way down and there are a lot of trees being exposed that you don't see at higher water levels. However there are still many "shorter" trees that are still underwater waiting to snag up your trolling lures I had some encounters and did lose some gear I got to an area that had some very good looking readings in the "sonar mode" when I switched to split screen sonar/DI I realized that it was a submerged tree. The rock off center to the right is holding fish. I took a picture of the screen because it was such an eye opener. The DI mode is coming in handy when there is too much clutter to identify whether there are fish or bait present or not Kelp stringers and turbulent water (near rocks) are a few of the places the DI is shinning for me So, my conclusion is that the down-imaging feature is useful in some situations
