Oceanside report. 4/19
Went out with Blake and mike this morning. Met at 600 am at launch. To my surprise the guy at the bait barge told me he had no anchovies. He had mackerel. With about 1% sardine mixed in. So we loaded our tanks with close to 20 greenies, with high hopes.
So I was told by a couple people to try the AR1. So we hooked south past the dredger, and paddles out into 80-100 feet of water to the numbers I have plugged in my gps. We showed up and started viewing our sonar. Couldn't find structure in a spot, searched, couldn't find the AR1 with any numbers I have. We started soaking baits on a dropper loop when we would meter good schools of fish, no biters. Search more, next school, no biters, and still no structure. At this time I'm thinking we should have stuck north where it's been consistent at the AR2, but the wind started to pick up. Blake headed in while mike and I paddled in 15+ mph wind and tried our hardest to get to the other reef. Just wasn't our day out there. Forced to drift back towards the channel and head home around 130. We did spot a mola mola and got a couple good shots. The highlight of the day... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
