LJ 10/25 Bugs & 10/27 Fish
I just had to start in with the lobster hunting this year. Previous years I
just fed them in the tidepools at low tide ... So I finally got the kayak, nets and bait together for an evening last week when the sea was dead flat with bright moon. Managed a dozen short lobster and a spooky eel in my nets before finally getting my FIRST legal lobster. Barely legal. Wow is lobster delicious! ----------------------------- On Saturday morning I paddled out looking for rockfish and lobster bait (mackerel) and ended up fishing live 12" macs on the bottom for a bright colored barely legal lingcod and broke off another hefty one. The rockfish were shy of the plastics out there, so I went inside and spent a half-hour slaying baby goats (just kids), one barely legal, after the inspiration by Yani. I see others had the same idea. Just an fyi for everyone, the minimum length for sheephead is now 12". http://www.dfg.ca.gov/marine/mapregs...sheephead_open Larry
