Copper Sunday 12/1 at Newport
Launched at 6:15 with only two boats heading out in the channel. Suuuper quiet. It was a spectacular sunrise and just plain flat, calm conditions all morning with almost zero wind.
Made my way out to look for some Reds but it was the Coppers that dominated the day. Most of the action was in 200 - 215 ft all on the fresh dead. Had a couple Reds and a Barber Pole to round out the bag for limits. All of the Coppers were in the 2 - 4 lb range, Reds were maybe 2lbs. The entire time out there, I saw literally one other yak in the distance and that was it...had the place seemingly all to myself. There were more Yaks fishing inside when I returned at 10:30. Tight lines!
