Seasons are Changing

The last few weeks have been fun fishing Minnesota's North Shore of Lake Superior. It's just about time to try a new body of water, the Gulf of Mexico, for some fall fishing action.

Using Dipsy Divers and Dodgers to troll spoons has been unusual, but a productive way to fish out of the yak in the great lakes. Using these techniques has me wondering about trying them for YT and other ocean species some day.

Has anyone ever tried trolling a Dipsy Diver and a Flasher/Dodger with a surface iron or spoon in the ocean? You can troll really deep with Dipsy Divers without a down rigger. It's a pretty simple and effective way to get a lure down deep fishing off the yak.

Here's a little vid of Salmon and Lake Trout action.
