La Jolla 7/24 - 7/25 AMs
Got out and pounded the sand for many halibut raked bites. It sure looked like they’ve moved in...
Got the 24” keeper right after the sun came out. I watched Brad landing his beast and got extra motivation to stay a bit longer. I hooked mine up around 10:00am…. I had a major struggle at color with the current and wind pushing my fish under my kayak, making it hard to follow my dang checklist… Hit it once and missed; it freaked out and dove down… Brought it back up to have the same problem with not really seeing the fish under me… I hit the best I could… turned out being pretty lame – I ran the gaff through the bottom center area… It started freaking out but I held on to the gaff with my both hands. 28.5# at OEX. Thanks for the pics Tim!!! Great to finally meet you on the water. I got extremely busy work schedule, but my family is back in Eutope allowing me to go out again the next day… Picked this guy up under the thick school of bait… Went 28#. Thanks for a grat pic Corey!
