first timer
My first time in my own kayak was the day of the big sale which I was there all night waiting very impatiently for. Patience is not my best thing so for me to sit there all night and wait has to say alot. I got a stealth 12 grey camo it looks sharp on the water too i must say. lol Came home slept for a few hours got up and went to the beach (cherry beach) and did my very first mini surf launch and land. My first impression was holy shit I'm gonna flip. Hun help me, I am scared and he could see the shock and fright on my face so sneakers and all he came to rescue me from my own scare, but I did not give up I got back on the kayak and I went back out and now I had to wait for him to catch up for someone in a hobie he sure was slow lol but he said the seat kept sliding and his peddles wasn't working right. When he finally caught up to me he asked me where I wanted to go I look to my right and can almost see the Queen Mary and then I look to my left and see an island that he works on and said lets go there. He said ok let's go. Got 3/4 of the way there and I was like ok let's turn around and go back, he asks why I said its getting late and i don't want to try landing in the dark so we turned and headed in and to both mine and his surprise I did not flip the yak at all so yay me. lol Then on Sunday we went out again this time we went off a boat dock and I think i did better Chitown54 (hubby) said when he got all set to come out I was long gone and he had to hurry to catch up to me. I feel I am getting better on the kayak I have always been afraid of the water cuz I almost drowned in it 2 times by it knocking me off my feet but now I am getting over that fear and being able to do something with someone I love I think that is what makes it all worth while for me and gives me the courage to try kayaking and not wanting to give up to easy. He is my strength. So thank you from the bottom of my heart hun (Chistown54) I love you.
