A timely report

Fished today without clients for the first time in a while. Got to meet up with an old fishing friend Neil and headed out around 5:30am.

Plenty of squid to be had. Not what you would call wide open on fish but I saw a few yellows landed, maybe 6, for a whole bunch of kayakers and a few skiffs on the water. One skiff driver seemed to think he owned the spot and yelled at anyone that even came close, he was such as ass it was actually comical. As I have my past few times out I got a fish on my first drop of a live squid for the day but nothing after that.

I had this beast loaded up by 6:30am on the kayak, stayed out for a bit longer hoping Neil would get one, and testing out my new downrigger but nada after this first fish.

Oh it is also my personal best White Seabass

and it weighed in at 62 pounds.

Eating good tonight.

The obligatory shitty driveway shot.

This on the water shot really doesn't show the size.
