Trinity Lake 4/28-4/29 2012
So the Fiance and I went camping this weekend up at Lake Trinity we wanted to get away from the Cold coast and into some warmer weather so went two hours inland for some fun in the Sun. Was close to 80 at the peak and not a cloud in the Sky. Called up to the ranger station and was told that there were camp grounds open. Guess I didn't specify lake side and non walk up. So pretty much we arrive to find nothing open except camp ground that you have to hike too up in the mountains. But we fixed that picked up a wilderness permit and a burn permit and set up camp in a cove along the lake. Didn't see another person the whole time. Had about a dozen deer come running though the site as soon as we got don't setting up.
Set up camp about 50yards from the lake and about 25yards from a creek which was cool because all night while by the fire pit that Mary and I constructed we could hear Frogs and crickets. Was really cool being so isolated. Hear is the view we had from our tent. Found this guy when looking for fire wood. Mary representing with out me even knowing it till we were about to launch. Small Largemouth caught on a Berkely Gulp in watermelon. Was uploading the pictures and video off my camera and hit delete before everything got transferred over so wasn't able to add the pictures and video from the second day really sucks had video of a bald eagle flying 5ft over Marys head and a bunch of other cool shots this lake is really pretty and the shots I have just don't do justice. Will have to do what Mary said when I told her I deleted the other shots. " guess we will have to just go back. The smallies havent made into the shallow yet is what it sounds like from the other boats that I talked too. Hoping to get another trip up to this lake before I move back to SoCal. |
