My Biggest Fish Ever

I know this is a kayak forum, but I couldn't help but share my biggest fish ever caught. I went out on a 3/4 day party boat yesterday and caught this bad boy (girl) about 1/2 hour into the tripe. My only other catch was a 14inch sand bass. It was very slow for everyone....Most of the boat was using cut-up fresh squid, but I decided I wasn't going to conform to the masses, so I used a live squid .

This Lingcod didn't put up much of a fight. There was a very subtle strike, then a bigger one. That's when I set the hook! She took off under the boat, and I had to tighten my drag down. (I guess my set-up wasn't adjusted for big-fish)

Anyways, I hope to catch more fish of this size when I head out in my kayak....
