DP 1/10
Dropped the girls off at school and headed down to the local spot. The waves were flat and the wind was light so I headed shallow. Worked the area for a couple shorts and a bass. Then got the signature rod tip snap. Set the hook and solid weight. I knew it was going to be a nice fish so I took my time. After a few minutes it comes to color. New plan- clear the deck and get the clip ready. First gaff attempt hits her square in the head and bounces off. Now the fight is on. She now realizes that there is a hook in her mouth and that the guy on the other end has a larger hook waiting for her return. I'm in the stringers by now and the realization hits me that this may turn into "the one that got away".
