New Toy Testing
I got an early Father's Day gift from my wife and I had to try it out.
I tried going with that wet mount design that I have seen others use and honestly did not like the results so I get to tinker with it some more. Otherwise the GPS was dead on and I loved the graphics. Paddled over toward North Island and realized there was little to no tide movement at all. The wind created enough movement for it to be somewhat fun. Landed this one about 30 minutes into my trip. This one came on the next drop Both Halis were between 13 to 16 inches. After that the bite was no where to be found until about 12:00 LordMatt and his cousin offered to pick up some dines that I would pay them for. So I took a couple of small scoops from them and happily paid them. Then the lizard fest began, needless to say those are not swimming anymore, they became lobster food, or whatever chooses to eat them. I landed a nice Sandy that went 15" and due using the Stinger hook on the large dines this fish took the hook into its belly so I brought that one home. Didn't really want to but why not. Then this guy came to play The wind was really rough out there today and the boaters weren't much nicer either. I felt like I was constantly having to fend off wakes. No worries it's good practice for La Jolla. All in all it was a fair day fishing, I got bit by the targeted fish, Halibut, but they didn't want to play much after those two. 2 short Halis, 2 Bass, about 5 Lizards, and got to test out a new Fish Finder/GPS. Thanks for reading.
