La Jolla first solo yellowtail

Went to La Jolla Thursday and saw Josh at the launch, even though he was with a client he took the time to give me a few words of wisedom which I followed. Easy launch through one foot waves in 67 degree water. Headed out, lots of bait and flylined a mac. I had gone out Tuesday and scored a yellowtail only to loose it to the kelp. Learning from my mistakes on Tuesday I kept this one out of the kelp. I have caught yellowtail before but always with the assistance of Josh so I was very pleased to put it all together solo. It was great, I even had an audience, a few power boaters come over to watch me struggle for half an hour only to get into a tug a war with a sea lion just after I got my game clip in. I won but it wasn't an even match. I just wanted to thank everyone, especially Josh, for all the tips you have given me over the years. You all helped make this dream come true. Thanks.
