New PB
After getting a little info and suspecting I was missing out, I finally got off the bench and into the game on Saturday. Little did I know until now what was going on the last two weeks. I got to the launch around 4:30 and on the water at 5:00. Sent the first bait down and continued making bait while drifting around the fleet. Saw a few YT and WSB caught and knew I was in the right place. Around 7:30 the clicker goes off, clear the bait rig and I am on. Fish stayed pretty much straight up and down. When it came up, I see it is a big Halibut. Oh crap, what am I going to do with this thing. If I gaff it and pull it into my lap it is going to go off. Thanks to another kayaker, I believe his name was Mark for the assist. He slid his game clip though the gills and held the fish while I cut the gills and subdued it. A new personal best Halibut at 41 lbs.
