Starting the new year right!
My plan this morning was very simple. Target the WSB and apply basic fundamental techniques, learned from Josh P, when fishing for these shy and elusive fish.
When I first met Josh he would call me "Gabe the one man band". He called me that because I made a lot of noise on the water. 1st lesson from Josh: be very, very quiet when fishing the ghost. So, I quietly paddled to the spot arriving around 7:30am and quietly cast my line, and waited. Ten minutes later my reel started to scream like it was being raped! As my rod went bendo to the max, I started to think 'please, please dont break off'. Twenty minutes later a big WSB pops belly-up. Yeah!! I called it a day, paddled back landing on the beach to the same baby waves from this morning. And yes! My rods out number my wives shoes! She hates it and has plans to catch up. |
