Jim and I met at the launch around 5am and set off to a nice looking morning. Well.....except for the wind. What is up with the windy mornings lately anyway? We decided to make a go of it and hit the water at 1st light. We paddled over to our spot and the fishing was pretty good. It was a tough day of fishing as the tide was moving in and the wind was moving against and sideways to the current. definately made for some tough drifts.
We hung in there and managed a few species of fish. Nothing big....just a good variety. I was looking for hali's but they didn't want to play. just about everything else around there bit though.
The wind became a pain in the ass so we moved to the other side of the bay to get out of it for a while. We fished a few spots for more bass action. Again....no big fish. We fished the area around the launch just before landing. Caught some bass there and Jim decided to head for shore. I stuck it out for another cast and BENDO....another little sandy hits the deck. Jim couldn't stand that so he started throwing palstics from shore. (notice Spder on shore in the last pic). Of course he got nothing from the land.
All fish caught on platics (smothered in the Uni of course) and gulp baits. Fished the 6lb test all day.
A great morning hanging with my wingman and catching some fish and killing a cigar.
We were off the water at 9:30 am. Jim a little earlier than me.
