5/20 SI Report

Took my long-time friend/new kayak fisherman out to shelter island for a little bassin'. The fish did not disappoint. Aside from the 15 or so combined lizards we landed, we caught 30 bass between the 2 of us, biggest being a 2 lb sandie. At about 10:30 the hali's started biting, caught 4 in about a half hour span, all short except one my buddy caught that went 23" (his first ever halibut, good job Kyle), let him grow up a little before he goes home for dinner.

All fish caught on either 1/2 oz leadhead w/ 4" new penny, nuke chicken, or assorted 4" swimbaits slathered w/ uni-butter. All caught on 6 lb p-line.

Fish Count:
1 mac
1 sculpin (good thing gill plate spines aren't poisonous...oops)
15 lizards
28 sandies
3 spotties
4 halibut (one legal)
fished from 7:15 to 11:30

Buddy went home with severe case of bass thumb and giant smile .

GDOTW!

Evan
