Looking at Native Slayer Propel 10 or Old Town Sportsman PDL 106

Hey guys,

Looking at getting one of the yaks in the title, this would be roof loaded/racked.

This would be used mostly for freshwater fishing here in central TX.

Anyone here using one of these atm?

I like that the native slayer quotes 62lbs without the pedal drive installed, where the Old town is quoted at 76, albeit the old town has a 50lb higher weight capacity.

I've been reading stuff about the native having rudder cable issues (actually snapping at times etc), so that is discouraging.

They both seem to have respectable propeller driven pedal drive systems.

I like that the old town mentions it has a dedicated-protected transducer mount.

Anyone weigh in on these?

I think I like everything about the old town better other than the unfitted weight, but I don't really know much about the reputation between the two brands.

Thanks!
