Fun La Jolla Rock Fishing

Fun Rock Fishing
Four of us hit the water, and I was the only
one with a fish finder. And since my finder
is new Hook7, I didn't have any rockfish spots
marked. Now the burden was to find potential
spots, and start knocking on doors. We stayed
around the 150 depth all day.

This happened on the last full moon. Water temps
haven't risen an iota, ie, 58F. No signs of life
birds or bait. So we were all happy to stay on
course and find some rockfish.

We found some--but the closer we were to shore
the smaller the units. Finally around 3-4 miles
offshore. We struck a nice honey hole and fished
it hard for around 2 hours.

I got my biggest whitefish, tree fish and vermillion.
So stoked!
