Black Pearl Report

Departed Chanel Islands around 8:00 PM with only 4 passengers. Anchored up at Alberts on backside of Santa Cruz. Hoopnetted from 1:00-2:30 AM for nada. Moved to Cristy's and started kayak fishing around 8:00 AM. Fished down to Forni's for calicos, small rockfish and a short ling. Moved to front side and fished 2 miles west of Arch Rock to Arch Rock. Calico fishing picked up around 3:00 PM. Fished the MC Slug weedless in the kelp for some quality checkerboards. Water temp was 58-59. Had no finbait, used frozen squid. Beautiful weather at Alberts Anchorage at night; no wind and a gazillon stars. Light SE wind in the morning and moving to frontside a good call (flat calm). Thanks to Captain and crew of the Black Pearl for going the extra mile with only 4 passengers. bosco
