Makobob update
New post on Mako-ville
The rehab process. by Makobob The rehab process as explained by my Doctor. Staff infection in both large left toe and blood stream. This could take 15-60 days of intensive anti biotic therayp. The first step was to open the toe and clean out the funk and junk. Remove infected bone, puss and remove samples for blood cultures. Samples off to the lab to grow cultures for comparasion to samples from 3 months ago and from last year. After five days of anti biotics, tomorrow they check to sea what is still growing. Then start a new set of cultures. Readjust the course of treatment and decide the the next move. They opened the blood vessels in the left leg and the toe is getting about 30% better blood flow. Next week they plan on opening the vessels on the right leg. That should let the slow healing wound on the right foot finish the healing process. Better blood flow equals FASTER healing. Faster healing means Baja here I come. It appears that my body is fighting the same infection I had last year. Beasties just keep hiding and getting moore resisant to the anti biotics. So TOMORROW I go home. A nurse will visit daily, dress the foot wound and administer the anti biotics for a while. But I will be in the comfort of home. Thanks for your support guys, tight lines. See you all soon.
