La Jolla 5-27-17

Well made it back from my first ever La Jolla trip. Launch was a piece of cake, made decent bait fairly quickly (most of which were 4-6 inches but a few 7-9 models). Flylined, suspended about 20 feet and another at about 50 feet and trolled anywhere between 65 and 130 feet deep but no takers today. Saw some other guys land some decent fish though.

Swells from NW later in the morning made it interesting...so much so I decided I was going to flip my yak and go swimming in about 70 feet of water. Fortunately all of my gear was leashed and/secured and I didn't lose anything but my pride. For the fellow that came by to check if I was ok, if you're on here, Thanks!

Decided that was enough for me and headed in about noon. Aside from dodging swells and kelp return was uneventful and landing was a breeze.
