First kayak and totally babied. Bought May-2015 and in storage since Oct-2016. Rinsed after every outing and always stored indoors. I've used solo with no problems. Didn't need ballast up front (but I'm about 155#). Perfect for introducing kids to fishing and taking the wife out. Great for lakes and bays but no problems offshore. Here's some footage from DP and Crystal Cove:
