This morning, La Jolla

While it was dark I didn't get any activity at all. Butt hay, I'm a noob. Things began to flourish for me at first light. Lots of bait around. When I hit it right, and if I lingered for a few seconds after the first tugs, each drop produced 3-4-5 mackerels. One drop was all sardines. Dolphins everywhere. It was basically another stunningly beautiful sunrise, for which I am always grateful.

Got hit hard twice, landed the second at 8:30am. A kindly BWE member paddled over to coach ... "pole forward, ... let the fish drag you, rudder up, .... and some other nice things my poor ears couldn't decipher as I was trying to get this yellowtail safely aboard.

I was fishing the bottom with a 3-way swivel rig, big hook and the biggest mackerel in my tank. My FF is in for replacement so I was dead reckoning and very slow dragging the bottom to cover more territory.

The little yellow guy looking through the fork of the tail wants to taste anything I'm working on.
