Transducer mount on PA - through scupper??
Looking at where to mount the transducer on the PA. I really like the idea of it being in contact with the water for the best reading. Not wanting to go through the hassle of cutting a hole in the bottom I am looking at mounting the FF to the gunwale and having the transducer mounted in the "crease" right behind a scupper with the wire running down through the scupper. There is already a "wire entry point" in the sidewall that will be perfect for getting the wiring inside the hull. My thought is to run the wire to the center hatch area and notch the side of the hatch opening for the wire to run right down the scupper to allow a pretty clean install.
This seems like too obvious a mount for it not to have been previously shown here if it works, so I am thinking there is something I must be missing? Does the Mirage drive make too many bubbles that mess with the performance? Has someone else tried this with less than optimal results? Looking to get the PA on the water next Saturday if the stars align. Last edited by Hunters Pa; 07-13-2014 at 11:10 AM. Reason: typo |
