First time out on my yak and new PB!

Launched from shelter island at around 0830. Went straight out towards the north island pier and drifted south. Saw a couple of ppl catching fish from the pier and started catching some of my own. First, it was two big lizards, DAMN! Then I set up another drift and started catching spotties. I was there for a lil over two hrs and caught 20+ spotties, but not a single halibut! So I went to a different spot and set up a drift. Within 5 mins, I got a bite. I thought I was stuck on something but then I got a couple of head shakes. Five mins later I was finally able to use my new gaffs, thanks to MakoBob and Tin Slayer! Got my tape measure out and it was a 26" Halibut. PB from a yak! Now the halibut is cooking in lime juice for some ceviche!Name: image.jpg
