Yakattack Sidewinder
I just recently visited the yakattack website to check out some of their new stuff, and I found a couple of things I haven't seen.
I came across the Sidewinder. Basically it's a piece of plastic that you wind your anchor rope on. Seems simple....but it also allows you to lock the line in place....impressive! Anybody that's tried to work with a bunch of anchor line will definitely appreciate this little device. I don't usually anchor when I'm fishing saltwater, but when I fish freshwater occasionally, an anchor is very nice to have. So I bought one, and I have to say that...it's pretty bitch'n! All wrapped up the anchor is a nice tight, organized package, that's easily stored, deployable, adjusted and retrieved. Next problem is how to tie the anchor off quickly and cleanly without drilling and installing a standard cleat.....Back when I had my stealth I used clam cleats to secure my anchor line and it worked great! But....they were screwed into the hull, so they were always there, I never did like that. I just couldn't figure out how to get them on my PA without drilling into the mounting boards...and I didn't want them to always be there.... So back to yakattack for some more ideas...I came across the HD track mount...Perfect that's exactly what I'm looking for! Clam cleat screwed onto the HD mount, attached to the gear track! Finally! a clean removable solution, that you can quickly attach, secure, and release your anchor line. Perris Bluegill beware, the killing machine is getting hungry!!!!
