Product Review- Popcorn Maker
Given the amount of hilarity that has ensued over the past couple days, I thought I'd take this time to review my latest favorite toy, the Stanley Cup Popcorn Maker.
First off, my old man lives north of the border, and everything is covered in either maple syrup or NHL logo's. They love hockey so much, that they even made a popcorn cooker out of the most iconic trophy in all of sports! He sent me this as a birthday present, and I thought I'd break it out as to more enjoyably read some of the latest fish reports. It should be noted that this is an oil free unit, and works fantastically. Typically, when you're making popcorn, its because you're anticipating a funny line or two from your favorite message board. Little did I know, the joke would soon be on me, and making the popcorn is where the real fun is at! After about 20 seconds, the kernels begin to reach optimum cooking temperature, and you might hear a pop or five-thousand. Truly, one pop, then all of them explode out of the top of the unit like an elementary school kid getting thrown out the side door of a spelling bee. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking. Lessons learned: 1: Don't put too many kernels in the unit at one time. 2: Don't drink alcohol before using such a device. 3: Regular microwaved popcorn tastes better 4: This makes a huge mess, and the exploding kernels come out at over 300*F. Don't try and catch them when they fly out of the top of the unit. Lastly, Go Kings.
