LP Camping Trip 07

The LP decided to do a little camping trip to the montanas, Jimbo organized the trip and the plan was set in motion. The group included myself, Clay, Mr. and Mrs. Hook1, Mr. and Mrs. Cabo John (a late arrival), Jimbo and his daughter Shae, Cucamonga Keith, Grego and DeeDee, and Gabe and his girl Rosie (she exists - we thought, er, never mind...). Forget the name of the lake, we'll just have to call it Loch Ness, although there were no sitings of Nessie, we did however think we saw Yeti, though that might have been Cabo John with his Russian Beaver Fur hat. The sites were huge and even though we reserved 3 sites, we only needed one.
Here we are the first night, happy smiles all around, beautiful night, although we did have one casualty early, seems one of the little ones couldn't hang. Clay was the first to go out...

Later that night, we had even more casualties...

The conditions were a bit windy the second day, though some did get out and do some paddling. As the wind picked up, all opted to get some shore fishing in, and this group of saltwater anglers had to show the freshwater people how to do it. Here's Hook1 Mark with a nice catch, and an even better photo op...

Then Mrs. Hook1, Karen, got into the action. Here she catches a unique specimen from the loch, a troutus talkus.

The fish was overheard negotiating with Karen, and offered to grant her 3 wishes if she released him back into the loch. Karen is now known as the Queen of Mexico, the Aleutian Islands are now referred to as the Hook1 Islands, and she recently imposed a ban on all motorized craft within 100 miles of the entire CA coastline, unless they are giving bait and food to kayakers....

Pretty soon the whole gang was looking for that magic fish...that night was spent dining in style, as some had some nice BBQ'd steak, while others had steak and lobster...everyone dined well, and the festivities continued.
The next day, with beautiful, sunny skies, it was time for the young 'uns to get into the action. Here is Clay and Shae out on the loch, getting some trolling action in...

And another shot of the youngster, in his Sunset Beach Mini X, enjoying being in his own yak...

Cucamonga Keith had been slaying the fish the past two days, and actually got his 5 fish limit in 7 casts, thanks to his magic formula...he even had some of the loch's regulars asking him what he was using...when he told them he had been using sand crabs, that definitely threw them off. He set up some outfits, and soon the whole group was hooking into some fish. Here, Shae and proud papa Jimbo show off Shae's trout...

Here's Clay getting into some of the action, coached on by The Trout Meister...

Here is Clay with his photo op, notice Gabe in the background, waiting for Clay to be distracted so he can snag some of the magic formula...

Overall, turned out to be a blast, beautiful weather, great food, great times with great friends. The kids got to do some stress free paddling, got into some catching instead of just fishing, the group all got along well, never ran out of firewood, and all stayed hydrated.
We definitely all agree, we need to do this again, and even though it was quite a travel to get to the loch, it is a place we hope to return to....soon.
