10/30 La Jolla werewolf hunt
I loaded up my silverbullets and candy corn in hopes for some monsters!
It was hard waking up on a day off but I knew it was going to be a nice day that couldn't be wasted, hit the water by 0800. Meet a fellow BWE yaker named Tim at the launch, chatted for a bit and decided to fish together The current was mild and felt like it pulled southwest, water was clear. Not much swell or wind either. Fin bait would come in waves, mostly med-large macs in upper/mid column and smaller spanish/mini macs on the bottom. Had some trouble getting good size bait but managed to scratch a few. Had some fresh dead squid for dropper loops. Stayed in the previous squid ground area for a while but not much action. The conditions were so nice we decided to go for some fish tacos. Meet up with Wade who joined us on our taco hunt. We all managed to scratch up some feesh. Pleasure fishing with both of you, cheers. Silver Bullet at sunrise Vermilion Rockfish and a 17'' Calico I invited home. Released some small calicos and rockfish. |
