New guy introduction
The name is Colt, I live in Charleston SC. Got my first yak this year, a Perception Caster 12.5, been doing mostly fresh water. One of my friends does a lot of salt water, and once I get some salt water gear, I'll be out there trying my luck!
Ive went out in the river so far and also the lake. Lots of gators out and this time if year they tend to be a little territorial, lots of fun! When I'm not fishing I'm working as a Firefighter full time, and as a gunsmith part time. I also dabble with photography, but that's strictly hobby at this point. This is a great way for me to relax (so is shooting 100 rounds in 15 seconds on a 240, but they tend to frown on that past sunset) and I'm enjoying every chance I get. One of the guys I worked with came down with thyroid cancer earlier this year. He is the salt water fisher I mentioned above. Before that we never had time to hang out due to crazy work schedules (between the firehouse and "part time" job we were averaging 100 hours a week). After spending a lot of time with him in the hospital, we both said we were going to slow down with things and get out and fish more. Our last trip netted us no fish, but considering the bigger picture, I call it a success. I've been lurking for a few months and thought I'd jump in and sit around the campfire with yall. I'll post some pics soon, Tapatalk just changed on me and I can't figure it out. |
