Happy rockfishing season guys!

Well, Im back and it was a good day out there today. Absolutely killed it at the san clemente kelp. Lots of sheepshead brought up , lots of reds, lots of rockfish, lots of fish period. Best day fishing I have personally had in months.

I highly reccomend going out if you get the chance. I won the jackpot today on the fatty goat for the first time. My new best for sheepshead and my third biggest fish ever! Also my first rubber lip perch. Threw a lot of shorties back but got to keep a few.

Rockfish were hitting squid, sheepshead were hitting on shrimp and squid - both double dropper and sliding sinker were working. Sliding sinker more so than the double dropper for the sheepshead. I was using 40lb power pro.

Fished from 10am-245, first at the headlands kelp then headed to sc kelp.
I just need to get over this cold/flu shit and Ill be paddling out there for free. Although the jackpot paid for my trip and I got 1/2 off the next one so maybe ther is another trip in there soon...
