Black Marlin in Panama

This was the strangest fight we have ever had on a Marlin, it was also likely the biggest Marlin we have ever hooked. It just kept swimming slowly down swell acting as if we were not there. It just wouldn't fight. If we were into killing them we could have at any time by just getting over the top of it then sticking it with my harpoon. Since we CnR it was just not safe to try and bring it up while still so fresh. When it wanted to pull it smoked line off the reel but for the most part it just swam slowly and we had to resort to different methods to try and put pressure on the fish. We were geared more for the tuna we were catching so when this fish decided he had enough of us he just straightend the hook. This was a BIG fish
