I have seen people catch trout on small rapalas, but I stick with what I know gets numbers and even size. My larger fish have always been on the Roostertails.

Last time I was on lake Jennings about a month ago. My son and I could have limited out on trout in 1 hour trolling the roostertails, but I stopped so I could give him the chance to bait fish and see what if feels like to get a bite. He caught a trout and a catfish back to back all on his own. I didn't help him at all. He's 5, keep that in mind.

Stick with what works.
No joke I started to use cast master when i was about 8 but I been fishing since I was 2 1/2 but I am only 21 and I bed your son is a true addict after having fishing days with his idol especially catching numbers like that!
