La Jolla 2/16am

Launched about 6ish or so with Pat. Paddled out to the spot, it was already warm out. Sun wasn't quite above the horizon and I see Pat going for a ride (his story) encouraging sign! 20 minutes later I feel a bump while I'm yoyoing a 6x blue/white, so I rear back and feel it stick. Took me about 20 minutes to land a nice 19 1/2 lb yeller'. I wish I could tell you how skilled a fisherman I am .... I bring the 'tail to the side of ny kayak and sink the gaff and I noticed the treble hook is embedded in his forehead... sometimes you get lucky. Great day on the water, Nice to meet all the fellow yakers out this morning. pictures to follow.
