First time attempt at lobstering, went pretty well with a limit of keepers. Had a bunch of shorts as well. Day 2 same story...limits!

That is one great accomplishment, limits on your very first 2 nights bugging from a yak. Congratulations.
We've only caught more than 5 total between us in one night. That one time we landed 12 was our great bug night.

Thanks was a blast, with this crazy luck might even give it another shot today.

Chuck, yeah nice meeting you. I'm sure I'll see you on the water again.

I am far from an expert but the Promar gear worked well for me which I stack on the bow. I use flexi ties on the edges of my bait cages to help keep the sea lions out. My sets are usually spaced at least 50 yards apart from each other. Keep an eye on the tide, I've almost lost gear before on a strong outgoing tide. I usually depart from Shelter Island public launch. There are plenty of good spots in the bay. The North Island side all the way out to Zuniga jetty seems to be producing some decent #'s. Good luck!
