There is a time limit and max distance from nets. Might want to check the regs for details.

I think the maximum time away allowed is 2 hours. Then it would be considered as abandoned.

Your bait could be eaten within minutes or an hour and then they'll move
right along. Yes they can crawl right out of a conical net very rapidly. Hard to believe but on good crawl nights they will decimate a baitcage stuffed full of mackerel in 1/2 hour, down to the fish bones. |
