Surprising that there weren't any scavengers around! Something like that normally does not go to waste.

Yeah, I've seen an elephant seal that was all chewed up by sharks and also some sea lions, but noting quite like this.

80 miles or so south of SD while hunting for bluefin.

I sort of thought there would be. There were yellows under some pretty small paddies that day, but only bait under the whale.
