I know I wouldn't store my kayak outside. When I'm not either fishing from or transporting it, it's been washed with fresh water and soap and stored in my garage on it's stand. |

I used to have mine on my car for weeks at a time because I did not have a place to store it due to no yard and no garage but fortunately I was in a place with underground parking. I had it strapped with 2 tie downs and then I had one of those unbreakable bike locks that looped around the roof rack and through one of the scuppers so nobody could steal it. Didn't have any issues at all but make sure you tie the tie downs in knots in case one of the metal mechanical springs fails then you have a back up to keep it secure.

My parents have had two kayaks for ten years and they are always stored at the dock or in there backyard. All you have to do is make sure to get the crap off of it and protect it from the sun light. They put a heavy canvis cover on it. this should make you good to go.

Is Armorall safe for kayaks? Also I decided to put it in the garage laying up against the wall on its side for now until I figure out something better, hope that's okay. I was looking at one of those J hook style racks anyone using one? I was just being lazy and having loaded on my truck would have made it an easy departure for those spur of the moment fishing ventures after work.
