My DIY Cart

Just thought I would post some pic's of my build. The wheels articulate and actually work as suspension. It glides over the sand too...

I have 4 more wheels if anyone is interested in them...

Did you use all thread thru the abs? i made something similar for a friends canoe, but used aluminum tubing for the axles, and hitch pins to hold the wheels in place. nice build.

Thanks. I used all thread, I wanted options until I was sure of build, then will probably switch.

They are just a hallow 8" wheel that was over produced for a cooler sales company I found.

Doesn't 4 wheels make it harder to turn? Why didn't you just use 2 wheels, that will leave enough room to drop in a 5 gallon bait bucket too.

looks like it would be fun to put a motor on and remote control that thing down the beach.

5 gal fits right between the wheels! Turns very easy and I can opt to ride it down a grassy hill if the fishing is slow. :-)

nice job, looks clean, I would try it down the hill....lol
actually now that I look at it, that would be sweet for the surf fishing trips, just invert the rod holders, great idea

I actually took the rod holders from my surf fishing wagon and justified it by using this as my surf set up also, much lighter to pull around than my Bobby built wagon which weighs about 100 pounds. I will just tie a rope and pull the cart fully loaded. I also got in and rode it down the street, it has a great capacity...and is fast!

P.S. The rod holders work either way, you just have to face the reel out bound and the axle flips real fast.
