Hubbs-SeaWorld WSB, need volunteers May 18th
From: John Valencia [mailto:john@sdoceans.org] We finally got the 'go-ahead' from Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute. 2 shifts needed to fill: Wednesday, May 18th 11AM and 3PM LOCATION: San Diego Bay Pens (Corner of Grape Street & Harbor Blvd) Park in the metered parking along Harbor Blvd OUR NEW FISH: This group is ready to graduate from their nursery in Carlsbad and move on to bigger and better things...San Diego Bay! As a white seabass mentor, we'd love it if you could make it out to great them for the very first time! At the welcoming party, you'll be able to: - Start your morning by helping unload about 11,500 fingerlings and transporting them into their new home. We need as much help as we can get, as we'll be unloading them bucket by bucket from the truck. Morning and afternoon shifts available, so if you're free for either time, please let me know! We need as many volunteers as possible, so please let me know if you can help us! Feel free to bring a friend or two!!! Thanks, John Valencia Executive Director San Diego Oceans Foundation john@sdoceans.org p: 619.523.1903 f: 619.523.1979 www.sdoceans.org |

You might want to post this on Bloodydecks.com They have a lot of dedicated fishermen on that site.

They transfer from the indoor tanks to the outdoor pens like tomorrow maybe twice a year, but there will be a weekly feeding schedule you can volunteer to support. Send John Valencia an email if you want to get involved. I want to keep these tasty critters sustainable.

If you keep a WSB please turn in the head so they can determine the success of the program.

That's very cool. Thanks for posting the pics John & Wade. Was not able to make it, so the pics are helpful to see what the process is all about.
Those tags in the fingerlings must be really small. |
