12/27 Non fish report

Haven't been out in a very long time do to equipment failure. Made it out this morning and even though I didn't even get a sniff it was great to be back on the water on an absolutely beautiful day. Water temp was mostly around 57, air I think 61. There was a fair amount of wind early but after 8am it was like a lake out there. water was clear.

If only the water temp was a few degrees warmer! Yellowtail heaven. Someone got himself a new toy!

Yes, no fishies. I went out to Malibu and caught nothing but baby california halibut. I had to throw them all back, i wanted them to call mama and papa.

YT caught on Seaforth yesterday, 12/27

I should have packed up my yak this am after I read the UT with the report of a Yt caught on Seaforth half-day boat. Another beautiful day in LJ similar to x-mas eve when my daughter and I launched at 5am and enjoyed a gorgeous sunset that soon warmed the air to 70 degrees. I had to take off most of my layers as I stand-up paddled while my daughter peddled. I think we were going at over 4 knots at some points with dual outboards. Only eggs sacks and one tiny lizard fish.

I plan to head out Friday hopefully for one more 2010 WCW subbmittal.

Happy New Year, Kurtfish

I'm stoked for you, John!

Like I told you on the beach: "you won't regret it". For the next few months you'll find something you love about that boat. Probably just about every trip, really.

And some guys say the more ground you cover the more fish you'll come across. Catching them is another story, though .
