SMMT tourney info needed
(12. You must check in at the Boat launch at La Jolla Shores between 4:30am and 7:00am before fishing. 13. This is a shot gun start so NO LAUNCHING Prior to 6:00 am or after 7:00) i would imagine the boat launch gets very crowded. so... for you that have done this before is it easier to park in the main parking and drag the yak across the sand near the lifeguard tower or try and use the boat launch area?? good thing is it's a rising tide with the low at 4am how early is too early or too late??? (i know 7am is too late ) is parking a problem??

You will be fine driving and dropping off you kayak and then go park. Basically I would not be any later than 6 am. We always pick a time when the tide is not high for this reason. Coming in is usually the hard part with all the tourist etc. Don't stress, very easy and laid back tournament. See you in the morning.

Yeah for the launch it is not a problem, but do check to see if it is too soft if you don't have 4x4. Always a good idea to have wheels just in case particularly at the landing in the afternoon. It can be a mess at that time and it is much easier to roll your kayak back to your car.
Give yourself plenty of time to get loaded and up to the weighin at Kate Sessions Park before the deadline if you have a fish to weigh.
