Right on Drunkenmaster.

I call bullshit on the internet thresher-huggers. Some say only keep the pups, some say only the breeders??? Kayak fisherman are the last threat thresher-huggers need to be concerned about, it's a self limiting threat. There are not that many people who can actually land a thresher on a kayak, certain members of this board excluded.

I attended many of the MLPA meetings and Surfrider meetings and two city council meetings fighting the MLPA. I didn't see a single one of you thresher-huggers there, just saying.

But I'll have a cold beer ready for you if I meet you on the water!

I was out there today after work from 7-11pm and broke off not one, but 2 fish on the sabiki/iron. First one nearly spooled me and seemed T like.

Congrats!

All I was giving was "my experience on tsharks",not saying what anyone else should or should not do! I made a mistake but that doesn't mean anyone else is. I don't really give a rats ass who kills what! Some very quick to pull the trigger on ones lifes experiences. Sad indeed.

Nice catch! It tast great on the grill. I remember when I posted my first T shark on this board I caught all kinds of hell. I will say there are guys in LJ that are keeping more than their share of T's every year. It's an every other year thing for me. In 2011 I'll keep one, and post it. So to the T huggers!

When will somebody be able to keep a shark without the critics putting in their 2 cents (with interest)???

It seems like keeping sharks garners more comments than anything...keeping toad calicos, props for catching a first lunker off a yak, discussions about MLPA closures, EVERYTHING....

Congrats on the catch. Hopefully the comments do not deter you from posting future reports.

Cradle them in your arms and sing soft lullabies. Actually, if that doesn't work just try wrapping them up tight in a blankie.

Or...?

Great catch

You looked stoked! Many hours went into that catch. Fry it up, BBQ it, Bake it......ENJOY IT!

Oh by the way can you please use a barbless hook on a 300# line, fight it for one minute and release it after kiising it....get real people!

I thought I recognized Premo's 'yard bird - pen built' legs in red Hobie. That was one big ass T! As I recall, didn't that phoooker pull you from Newport to Laguna?

I'll keep my one this year. Just haven't found the right one to keep yet! Best fish taco meat around.

All you hatred are, LAME!!!!!!!!! Give theguy a break. He kept and ATE 1 small thresher. Good, he doesn't get mercury poisoning cuz it's not too big, and because it's not too big it isn't breeding yet, so he's not impacting breeding stock.....now if you keep your next one, I'm on the hater band wagon.... Contgrats, I want o be like you and catch one of these. So i can sink my teeth into his tender pink flesh...

nice lil thresh bro, I know EXACTLY how it feels to get the first thresher it was ToOO fun! For you idiots out there, unless you are not keeping your YT or WSB or calicos ETC, why are you telling people to release? How much fish can a kayaker haul compared to a ship netting Billions of pounds of shark? Do you watch Tv, discovery channel etc? Thats my opinion
