Finally escaped the lab to get out on this perfect Friday afternoon. Scrounged a couple of spanish and one pornstar greenie. Almost thru him back but figured, hey, you know what they say about big baits?

Few minutes later the clicker gives a buzz. Hmmm. Grab the rod and feel something, thought it was kelp. Pull a bit and feel it still. Give a jerk and....ZZZZZZ.

So surprised was I that I kept my thumb on the spool for a good 10 seconds, generating one hell of a spectra burn.

Finally engaged the drag and off to the races we went. At first I thought it might be the white kind as it came almost to leader pretty quick, but then it saw the yak and took off again. It tried to kelp me but the kelp is so fucked up that it's hardly a problem anymore.

Pretty much straightforward from there, 26lb of hamachi on the deck.

Props to my photobeyatch Mike. Nice taco meat!

Nice fish Brad. It's funny you can think of a positive thing about the dying kelp. Usually a hot fish anywhere near the kelp was big trouble-it's been a while but some things you never forget
Nice to see PM YT.
